Module Description
This module builds on the knowledge and skills students have acquired from the module “Computer and Business Translation 1.”. It aims to develop their ability to use, evaluate and customise computer (-aided) translation systems in the process of business translation. Students also explore ways to analyse and solve problems relating to computer (-aided) translation of business texts.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of translation technology;
- demonstrate competence in using, evaluating and customising computer (-aided) translation systems;
- apply their knowledge to the translation of business documents;
- identify, analyse and resolve problems relating to computer (-aided) translation of commercial texts; and
- acquire additional knowledge of computing and natural language processing.
