Introduction of School of Translation and Foreign Languages (STFL)
Hang Seng Management College (HSMC) was restructured from the former Hang Seng School of Commerce and was established in 2010 as a non-profit, self-financed university-level institution, with five Schools (Business, Communication, Decision Sciences, Humanities & Social Science, and Translation) and around 5,000 full-time students.
Our Bachelor of Translation with Business (Honours) (BTB) Programme began operation in September 2010 and is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. It provides our students with four years of intensive training in translation and interpreting, as well as in business skills, general education and the Chinese and English languages (so-called bi-literacy and tri-lingualism).
We are committed to small-class instruction, with no more than 20 students in a class. As each student is given individual attention, we are able to create an unparalleled environment of intimacy, interaction and participation in our classrooms. Students in the BTB programme are also enriched with experience acquired from overseas learning and internships. Read our alumni stories to learn about the different pathways our graduates head for.
In 2016, the School is embarking on a new journey by offering a Master of Arts in Translation (Business and Legal) Programme, which is the first postgraduate programme for the School and HSUHK.
