BTB Freshmen Get Ready on Student Orientation Day

New students of the Bachelor of Translation with Business (Honours) Programme (BTB) were welcomed by staff, alumni, and students of the School of Translation (STRA) on 21 August 2018, HSMC’s Student Orientation Day.

Introducing the School’s teaching staff, Dr. Shelby Chan, Acting Dean of STRA, encouraged all freshmen to make the most of their studies to not only acquire professional knowledge but also broaden their horizons for personal development.

The freshmen were introduced to different opportunities such as the overseas studies programmes in Beijing and the United Kingdom. Representatives of the Students’ Association of Translation with Business and alumni also shared their tips on studies and school life.

The induction took place in Fung Yiu King Hall, a conference hall equipped with state-of-the-art interpreting facilities in compliance with the standards of the United Nations. It provides BTB students with an ideal venue to put their knowledge into practice by performing simultaneous interpreting in College-wide events.
