Gao Xingjian at HSMC

Professor Gao Xingjian, 2000 Nobel Prize Winner in Literature and Eminent Professor of HSMC shared his thoughts on translation with students on 24 February.  We were delighted that Mrs Margaret Leung and several international and local scholars also attended the event. At the forum, we had a glimpse of Professor Gao’s wit and wisdom. He was very impressed with the quality of our students who, he said, raised intelligent questions about translation. After the talk, he stayed behind and signed his books and programmes and did not leave until all autograph seekers were satisfied despite his busy schedule.
