“Nordic Culture Festival at HSUHK cum HSUHK Consul General Series”, an event hosted by the Student Affairs Office and the School of Translation and Foreign Languages on 15 October 2020, showcased the kaleidoscopic culture of Scandinavia and encouraged cultural interaction through an array of activities.
Ms Johanna Karanko, Consul-General of Finland in Hong Kong and Macao, shared with the audience the happiness elements in Finland. The trust in each other, equal opportunities, political and civil freedom, free education system, work-life balance living style and the beautiful natural environment made Finland rank as the happiest country in the world.
Mr Per Augustsson, Consul-General of Sweden in Hong Kong and Macau, introduced Sweden to the audience as an innovative country with brands. It encouraged creativity and innovation. People believed in individuals’ ability and the hierarchy-less working environment unlocked everyone’s potential. Mr Augustsson also mentioned that Sweden would focus on environmental protection, mobility and life sciences in the future.
