TRA2012 Consecutive Interpreting 2
or with the Instructor’s permission and upon endorsement of the relevant Chairperson and Programme Director
Module Description
This module provides intensive training in simultaneous interpreting techniques, including the skills to interpret speeches of considerable length and density and the ability to carry out, speedily and efficiently, necessary terminological preparation for conferences on a variety of topics. Students are taught to develop stamina and endurance, linguistic resourcefulness and the capability to anticipate, compress and articulate clearly and coherently.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:
  1. demonstrate knowledge relevant to mastering simultaneous interpreting techniques;
  2. demonstrate broad knowledge in politics, business and current affairs relevant to their professional preparedness; and
  3. take a proactive and self-reflective role in working and develop professional relationships with others.
